Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it — in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

01 Who we are

WebX Digital Agency (“WebX”, “we”, “us”) is a web agency based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy.

02 Information we collect

  • Contact details you submit through our contact form — name, email, phone, and the project details, service and budget you choose to share.
  • Correspondence when you email or message us.
  • Technical & usage data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected automatically by our hosting and analytics tools.

We do not knowingly collect special personal information or information from children.

03 How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote or proposal.
  • To deliver, manage and support the services you engage us for.
  • To send project-related communication and, where you’ve agreed, occasional updates.
  • To improve our website and understand how it is used.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

04 Lawful basis

We process your information where you have consented (for example by submitting the contact form), where it is necessary to perform a contract with you, or where we have a legitimate interest or legal obligation to do so, as permitted under POPIA.

05 Sharing & third parties

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as far as needed. These may include:

  • Website hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Email delivery and form-handling services
  • Analytics providers
  • Payment and accounting providers

Some providers may process data outside South Africa; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure a comparable level of protection.

07 How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, tax records). When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

08 Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Object to or withdraw consent for certain processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

09 Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
